OUR STORY

Tatapela is a new company that manufactures fruit and vegetable snacks. The company stands by it’s all natural, no added sugar or sweetener, plant-based products. The ingredients are very simple, nothing unusual or unknown is added to the snacks, no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives, no hight fructose corn syrup, no waxes, no pollens, no oils, especially palm oil - Just the good stuff!

The business prides itself in adding no sugar to the snacks, all the sweetness comes naturally from the fruits. The ingredient combinations are specially crafted to complement each others’ sweetnesses and tartnesses to create unique flavors. Tatapela offers five fruit flavors: Mango apricot hazelnut, Strawberry fig hazelnut, Cherry almond, Blueberry almond, Peach almond and three vegetable flavors: Tomato, Carrot and Beets.

The development of the recipes took 2 years, during which over 120 samples were made. These samples were also observed for the shelf life and the flavors were tested at all the different stages. The products do not lose their nutrient content or flavors with time, hence customers can enjoy the taste of their favorite out of season fruits all year round! These Snacks are unique and have no analogies.

In addition to 100% Natural ingredients, products are also non-GMO, Gluten- Free and Vegan. The company is also developing a nut-free Organic line! The future objectives are to produce protein bars, energy bars, Spice paste - Ajika and Lollipops as well. Tatapela is proud of its product and is always developing new snacks to offers its customers even more of the delicious treats.

MANUFACTURING PROCESS

The company takes pride in its 100% natural manufacturing process. Not only the ingredients are healthy but so are the processing steps. All the snacks are handcrafted with love. The journey from raw ingredients to a finished product takes 20 days and involves 3 main steps. In the first step, the raw ingredients are prepared. This involves chopping, dicing and blending products.

In the second step, the ’filling’ is made. After the magic mixture is combined and poured into the molds, it is left to naturally air dry. Then, dried ‘filling’ is chopped into small pieces, almost powdered. The final step involves creating the second irresistible mixture with the ‘filling’ as one of the ingredients and pouring that into its final molds.

When the product holds its shape it is moved to be air dried. As you may notice there are multiple air drying steps involved. Retaining all the healthy and beneficial nutrients of the fruits and vegetable is the utmost priority for Tatapela. Hence, natural air drying process is the best choice. The process is strictly controlled: the humidity, temperature and air flow are regularly monitored in the drying chambers.

The business is purposefully located in the Mojave Desert, the place with the lowest humidity and dry climate in the whole USA, for the air drying all year round! There are no ovens, dehydrators, or any other type of heaters involved in drying, it is a completely natural process.
